根付師を志し63年、美洲銘より53年を経た。
根付を愛し創る喜びは未だ健在。
向後は根付とは？のエピローグとしたい。
若い頃、師に「自作は出来る限り手放さず自分を観ろ」との言を実行してきた。
その40代後半から現在までの作品をここに自らも発信させていただくこととした。
これらの作品を愛しんでくださるとしたら老根付師がクラウドファンディングを得た感謝の気持ちで創作を楽しめる。
Profile
齋藤美洲/根付彫刻家
1943年東京谷中に生まれる。1962年父・齋藤昇斎(齋藤美和)に師事し、根付修業につく。太平洋美術学校(現在の太平洋画研究所)に入学デッサンと彫塑を学ぶ。1972年曽祖父より「美洲」銘を継ぐ。
1974年米国ハワイ州で開催された「インターナショナル・ネツケ・コレクターズ・ソサエティ」、1977年米国カンザス州で開催された「根付研究会」(現在の国際根付ソサエティ)の世界大会に出席。「根付研究会」(現在の国際根付彫刻会)の創設メンバーで初代会長を務めた。

About 根付NETSUKE
「根付」は江戸時代に生まれた日本独自の工芸美術品。
印篭や巾着などを帯から下げて携帯する際に留め具（ストッパー）として用いられている。
江戸時代から19世紀半ばの作品は「古根付」と呼ばれる。近代から輸出品として人気を博した。1970代以降の作品は「現代根付」と呼ばれている。現在も伝統を受け継ぎながら工芸品の枠を超えてアートとして多彩な作品が生み出されている。

◇Greetings on the launch of my website◇
It has been 63 years since he decided to become a netsuke craftsman, and 53 years since he started Bisume.
The joy of loving and creating netsuke is still alive and well.
I would like to consider this as the epilogue to What is Netsuke?
When I was young, my teacher told me, "Hold on to your own work as much as possible and observe yourself," and I have always followed his advice.
I have decided to share here my work, which I have created from my late 40s up to the present.
If you enjoy these works, the old Netsuke master can enjoy creating them with gratitude for the crowdfunding he received.
Profile
Saito Bishu/Netsuke sculptor
Born in Yanaka, Tokyo in 1943. In 1962, he studied netsuke under his father, Saito Shosai (Saito Miwa). He entered the Pacific Art School (now the Pacific Art Institute) to study drawing and sculpture. In 1972, he inherited the name "Bishu" from his great-grandfather.
He attended the International Netsuke Collectors Society held in Hawaii, USA in 1974, and the World Congress of the Netsuke Research Society (now the International Netsuke Society) held in Kansas, USA in 1977. He was a founding member of the Netsuke Research Society (now the International Netsuke Carving Association) and served as its first president.

About NETSUKE
"Netsuke" is a uniquely Japanese craft that originated in the Edo period.
It is used as a stopper when carrying things like inro or drawstring bags hanging from the obi.
Works made from the Edo period to the mid-19th century are called "old netsuke." In modern times, they have become popular as export items. Works made since the 1970s are called "modern netsuke." Even today, a wide variety of netsuke are being produced that go beyond the boundaries of crafts while carrying on the traditions.
